Information Concerning the Museal Collection of Public Interest
INFORMATICS-HISTORY MUSEUM FOUNDATION

February 2010,
Szeged, Hungary

Welcome page/ Information

It is our hope that in about a year the 35 years old dream of Győző Kovács electrical engineer and Dániel Muszka mathematician will be fulfilled and the Agora Cultural Center will open its doors in downtown Szeged, housing the permanent exhibition of the collection of the Museum Foundation of Informatics History.

It is well known that informatics play an ever increasing role in our everyday life. Informatics played an important role in the unprecedented scientific and technological development within the past few decades, and it is still at the forefront of the progress. Therefore, our aspiration to collect and preserve characteristic objects and written memories of this development and present it to the public is understandable.

The John von Neumann Computer Science Society, the City of Szeged, the University of Szeged and the Foundation joined forces with to achieve this goal. Thanks to their effort, the huge collection of the Foundation, which, according to some international experts, is one of a kind in Europe, is going to be open to the general public soon.

This short summary serves as a preliminary news announcement about the collection.
